Mawarid Signs Processing Agreement for MDO

Mawarid Mining LLC has signed an agreement for Mineral Development Oman to take advantage of Mawarid’s Lasail Copper Concentrator in North Al Batinah. The agreement was signed by Tariq Al Barwani, Managing Director of Mawarid Mining.

Mr. Tariq Al Barwani said:

“Today we signed two agreements related to the copper concentrator. The first agreement involves the land itself, while the second leverages our concentrator to process copper ore from the upcoming projects of MDO expected to start producing in 2024. The concentrator previously could treat 110 tonnes per hour (t.p.h) of ore and has already milled 6 million tonnes of copper ore to date from our previous projects. Now, it is being renovated and upgraded to process even more ore, which is a benefit to Oman’s mineral ore production and exploration capabilities. We are happy to support MDO in this endeavor and we thank them for their trust and hope for more cooperation in the future.”
