Muriate of Potash (MOP)
The Umm As Samim Potash Project is an exciting opportunity for Mawarid to become a producer of Potassium Chloride (MOP) in the Middle East, supporting Oman’s strategic Vision 2040.
In July 2023, Mawarid was awarded a Concession Agreement for Block 53B in Umm As Samim, the eastern edge of the Rub Al Khali desert in Oman.
The project aims to: sustainably explore, develop and operate a potash project in Oman, ensure the environmental impact is minimized and responsibly managed, and be socially cognizant ensuring co-existence with all stakeholders.
The Umm As Samim Potash Project is wholly owned by Mawarid Mining Potash LLC, owned (100%) by Mawarid.
